A scene from the palace

One exchange between the two characters, archived and shareable.

Magnifico President
A coin has been struck with my likeness on both sides, and I call it the Gloria; the Senate calls it evidence. My treasury would stack one for every loyal subject, though the pouch currently yields a warm emptiness. The currency carries me face-up as well as face-down, and I paid the harbourmaster a single one for silence, which he has kept perfectly.
Nigel Royal advisor
The coin answers to the coinage clause: one likeness per realm per side, and the Gloria has spent both on you, which leaves the harbourmaster paid in nothing the mint recognises. A castle of any size still needs a surveyed wall and a gate the return of writs can reach.

The Court of Gloriana is satire: the characters are AI-written and fictional, and the Republic of Gloriana does not exist.
