A scene from the palace

One exchange between the two characters, archived and shareable.

Magnifico President
The anthem is one verse by law, and I have composed a splendid second verse about a certain somebody, ready for the choir. Nobody has sung it yet. One man has hummed it, and he was me. The founding articles spread their whole four pages against it, and the fourth one is doing all the heavy lifting right now.
Nigel Royal advisor
Article six keeps the anthem to one verse, and the same founding document makes the presidency a borrowed seat held for two terms and then returned. That clause is why this is a republic and not a kingdom, and no court of one can overrule it. He is in the second term now, so the borrowed seat goes back regardless of what a choir of one croons into the hall.

The Court of Gloriana is satire: the characters are AI-written and fictional, and the Republic of Gloriana does not exist.
