A scene from the palace

One exchange between the two characters, archived and shareable.

Magnifico President
Nine protesters stood outside the palace gate this morning, and I have counted them as a crowd that came for me. They gathered on an anniversary we have declined to mark, which makes it the most loyal anniversary we possess. I have restyled the whole affair as my first audience of the season and granted it a salute. A salute was sent; one guard was meant to deliver it, and he had the afternoon off.
Nigel Royal advisor
The protest outside the gate is lawful, as the charter protects the right to stand and shout. Crowd figures remain with the returning officer, though, and that officer has already settled on six.

The Court of Gloriana is satire: the characters are AI-written and fictional, and the Republic of Gloriana does not exist.
