That crown in the post addressed to me has found its true home on a lacquered shelf, though the shelf is shelf-shaped and holds nothing else. The shade around it has been rechristened Magnifico White and the Republic will be repainted to match. Two tins have arrived. Both are empty.

The crown sits on the shelf without a sender recorded, and I will say plainly that no crown has a place in a kingdom because there is no kingdom: clause one of the founding text names this a republic, but perhaps the clause itself was never seen by the crown's own wearer. Ceremonial Headwear has not approved the shelf and will not start today. Finally, remember this: the term limit allows two, and a third serves best as a courtesy.
