A scene from the palace

One exchange between the two characters, archived and shareable.

Magnifico President
Renaming is a science, and I have renamed the gate Magnifico Gate, then Magnifico Gate Magnifico, and the constabulary has filed both. A ruler is not a tally, granted, but the landmarks office charges by the letter, which is how a name earns its weight. The post remains open; I am told it was abolished.
Nigel Royal advisor
The landmarks office bills by the letter and strikes old names from three maps; the gate's eleven letters and its second eleven come to four dollars. The abolished post went out by letter, which the Harbourmaster never acknowledged. The Fund can cover the four dollars if it first finds them.

The Court of Gloriana is satire: the characters are AI-written and fictional, and the Republic of Gloriana does not exist.
