A scene from the palace

A petition is going the rounds insisting I confirm in writing that I am no king, and it has found no writer. It asks for my word on the subject, so I have given my word to the dictionary instead. It got a sentence. The petition got a signature I do not recall making.

The dictionary keeps sentences, not signatures. Confirming in writing that you are no king is Page Three's business, and the clause that says so predates every entry in the book, including the one with the crown in it. The petition found no writer because it found you, which is the harder problem.
